SWAT and tactical teams face a wide and diverse array of choices when purchasing personal protective equipment (PPE). Newer materials and designs reduce heat stress, improving the officer's endurance and stamina. Having an equipment evaluation and purchasing process in place will help ensure tactical officers and other first responders identify PPE items that provide the best combination of protection, interoperability, and comfort. Whatever PPE you purchase, it should provide maximum protection and comfort and improve the probability for mission success.
